THE ECO4 SCHEME IS A GOVERNMENT-BACKED ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAMME FUNDED BY THE MAJOR UTILITY COMPANIES
ECO is a government energy efficiency scheme designed to tackle fuel poverty and improve the energy efficiency of homes across Great Britain.
ECO4 is the fourth phase of the scheme and requires obligated energy suppliers to deliver qualifying energy efficiency improvements to eligible households.
ECO4 has been extended until 31 December 2026 to allow energy suppliers additional time to meet their existing obligations and complete remediation work. Eco Scotland is no longer accepting new ECO4 enquiries.
How Does The ECO Scheme Work?
Eco Scotland is no longer accepting new ECO4 enquiries or applications. ECO4 supported eligible households with funded energy efficiency improvements including insulation, heating upgrades and, in some circumstances, solar panels. The scheme is now in its final phase, with the extension to 31 December 2026 intended to allow energy suppliers additional time to meet existing obligations and complete outstanding work.
